It's not always more fun, but it certainly feels good to build websites in support of a good cause. And TRU is just that.

TRU is another one of the North Carolina Health and Welness Trust Fund's array of sites designed to increase health awareness and improve the health of our state. What makes this one special is that it is directed toward kids.

It can be difficult designing stuff for the web that's hip and cool in the mind of teenagers. CapStrat seem to have pulled it off. But regardless of the youthful target, this site is nothing but professional grade.

We use the same set of best practices on every site we build. Things like putting business logic in the business tier and wisely employing data caching to improve page load speeds.  Stuff that many "web companies" don't even know about. But hey, when it comes to teens, slow loading pages just aren't cool.
