W3C and web standards

The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C /link) develops interoperable technologies (specifications, guidelines, software, and tools) to lead the Web to its full potential.  It is comprised of industry leaders, and serves as an industry consortium dedicated to building consensus around web technologies.

Over the years, web technologies have emerged that are designed to make the web, and therefore your site, accessible to everyone. XHTML is one such standard, and CSS is another. Proper use of these 2 technologies together serve to better ensure that your site will render on a desktop browser (Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari, Gecko, etc.), a cell phone, a pda or any other device. Equally as important, it helps guarantee that folks with disabilities, using devices such as screen readers, alternate color palettes and larger font sizes will glean the information from your site you intended for them to experience with as little impact to your brand as possible.

The 2 badges in our footer serve as the seal of approval from the W3C that our site complies with the most stringent level of the standard. It ensures that the greatest number of people who find their way to our website will be able to experience the content we put here for them. It best guarantees that our site will work in browsers and on devices that have not yet been invented. And it even suggests that our site is search engine friendly.

Welsh Technologies strives to keep up with the ever changing technology that is the web. We’ve spent countless hours learning these new technologies over the years, primarily so our clients don’t have to. We’re committed to it.
